There are three main ingredients in fertilizer: nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. These are mixed in different amounts in different fertilizers. Even if you don’t have the exact blend you want, you can often make it by combining fertilizers you already have. Gardener Peter Richards explains how to do that.
