University of Virginia President James E. Ryan is resigning under pressure from the Trump administration amid a Justice Department investigation into the school’s diversity practices.

The Justice Department reportedly demanded that Ryan step down to resolve its probe of the university’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives,
according to The New York Times.
