Protesters are expected to gather at more than 1,600 locations nationwide Thursday to rally against the Trump administration over civil liberties and cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in the GOP tax and spending bill.

The Good Trouble Lives On: John Lewis National Day of Action name comes from a common phrase of Rep. John Lewis, a Civil Rights icon, that it was important to engage in "good trouble, necessary trouble" in order to achieve change.

The flagship event is in Chicago, with additional large protests planned in Atlanta, St. Louis, MO, Annapolis, MD and Washington D.C. Hundreds of smaller protests are expected in cities and towns across the country
