The second trial of Karen Read —the Massachusetts woman accused of hitting and killing her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe, with her SUV in 2022 — continues with witness testimony on Wednesday. Read is being retried less than a year after her first high-profile trial ended in a mistrial. She has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, manslaughter while operating under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of personal injury of death.
