WATCH: Speaker Johnson questioned on Trump’s pardon of Jan. 6 rioters

From PBS NewsHour.

House Speaker Mike Johnson spoke at a news conference Wednesday about the president’s decision to pardon or commute the sentences for more than 1,500 people who were charged in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.

"The president’s made his decision. I don’t second guess those," Johnson told reporters. "There are better days ahead of us. That’s what we’re excited about. We’re not looking backward, we’re looking forward."

The decision came after then-President Joe Biden preemptively pardoned members of the House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 attack, including former Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.
