WATCH: Thousands evacuate as wildfires devastate Los Angeles communities

From PBS NewsHour.

Massive wildfires fueled by high winds are engulfing the Los Angeles area, forcing residents to flee as fire crews struggle to contain the flames.

Thousands of firefighters are battling at least three separate wildfires raging through the metropolitan area with devastating force. The blazes have burned more than 1,000 structures, many of which are homes, and prompted mandatory evacuations of at least 70,000 people.

At least two people have been killed in the fires and many others have been injured, Los Angeles County Fire Department chief Anthony Marrone said.
