WATCH: Trump again falsely claims mail-in ballots lead to fraud

From PBS NewsHour.

In an Oval Office meeting Monday, President Donald Trump again falsely claimed that mail-in voting causes corruption and fraud in elections.

Trump said he was preparing an executive order on the topic of mail-in voting, and said Republicans need to focus on eliminating it.

“We’ve got to stop mail-in voting and the Republicans have to lead the charge. The Democrats want it because they have horrible policy,” Trump said.

He also erroneously claimed that the U.S. is the only country in the world with mail-in voting. Many countries use mail-in ballots, including Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Trump spoke during a meeting with visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the Russian war in Ukraine. That meeting precedes others at the White House with top European leaders, who are presenting a united front in support of Ukraine.
