From Global News.
While parts of Ontario bake under high temperatures, firefighters are battling several forest fires in cottage country.
Among them is what officials call a “significant” fire in the Burnt River area, northeast of Toronto, where a little more than one quarter of a square kilometre of forest continues to burn.
Officials say crews are making progress but hot, dry conditions persist and that the potential for wind could worsen the situation.
Sean O’Shea reports from Kawartha Lakes.
