Whooping cough cases surge as vaccination rates continue to drop

Medical experts are raising concerns about a spike in whooping cough cases as the bacterial infection begins to spread across the United States. The Center for Disease Control is now reporting more than 8,000 cases in 2025, which is more than double the amount reported by the same time in 2024. NBC’s Liz Kreutz reports for TODAY.
