Why enforcement of Canada’s lobster fisheries doesn’t end with harvesting season

Nova Scotia’s lobster harvesting season is over until fishing resumes in the fall, but that doesn’t mean enforcement ends.

Tensions have boiled over in the past between commercial fishers and Indigenous harvesters exercising treaty rights outside of the season.
