Why injecting rhino horns with radioactive isotopes protects against poaching | DW News

Under a joint project in South Africa, rhino horns are being injected with radioactive isotopes. The method does not harm the animals and allows detection by border officials. Tests showed horns can be found inside sealed 40-foot containers. About 20 rhinos were treated in initial trials last year.
