Syrian interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa has announced an immediate ceasefire in the Sweida province after clashes between Syrian government forces and rival Bedouin and Druze fighters. A war monitor says the death toll from a week of violence in the area south of Damascus has risen to 940 people. Tens of thousands of people have been displaced.
