Remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump to take over the Gaza Strip to turn it into the "Riviera of the Middle East, sparked criticism from international leaders, who widely rejected the plan and reiterated support for a two-state solution.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva questioned the well-being of the 1.8 million Gazans this directive would displace. "And where will Palestinians go? Where will they live? In which country?” he asked.

Meanwhile, China said they opposed the "forced relocation of people in Gaza."

Trump unveiled his surprise plan, without providing specifics, at a joint press conference in Washington on Tuesday with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
