The July jobs report came in much weaker than expected, but the downward revisions to June came in as an even greater shock. These slower job growth numbers are boosting bets for the Fed to cut rates. Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack tells Open Interest that she thinks the labor market is overall healthy and she is confident in the Fed’s rate decision this week, meanwhile BlackRock’s Rick Rieder says he expects a rate cut in September.
