There have been no reports of any structures lost due to the Wesley Ridge wildfire burning near Cameron Lake and Highway 4 on B.C.’s Vancouver Island.

However, hundreds of people remain out of their homes and hundreds more are ready to leave at a moment’s notice.

The Wesley Ridge wildfire, burning north of Cameron Lake, remains 511 hectares in size as of Tuesday afternoon.

As Global’s Kylie Stanton reports, cooler temperatures and light rain are giving firefighters a helping hand and the community hope as they try to get control.
