Spirit Airlines files for bankruptcy #shorts

From PBS NewsHour.

Spirit Airlines filed for bankruptcy Monday after losing more than $2.5 billion dollars since the beginning of 2020.

The budget airline has struggled to recover from pandemic-driven losses and a failed 2024 merger with JetBlue that was blocked by a federal judge in January over antitrust concerns.

Spirit said it will continue to operate normally during the bankruptcy process and committed to paying its employees and vendors while restructuring.
