WATCH: Icelandic volcano erupts for seventh time in a year

From PBS NewsHour.

A volcanic eruption on Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula sent fountains of lava spewing into the dark sky late Wednesday. The eruption was the seventh for the volcano since December and smaller than the previous eruption in August.

The numerous eruptions have caused damage to and evacuations of the nearby town of Grindavík, which is about 30 miles southwest of Iceland’s capital Reykjavik, in the past. But officials said the town and other infrastructure are not threatened this time.
